This book design was created for my Typography II class at Northwestern Michigan College in 2015. We were each given a designer(s) and I was given Hoefler & Frere-Jones. The guidelines were to create a gallery book for our designer using only 2 sheets of 11x17 paper. This amazing type-creating duo had recently split up, making headlines everywhere. I thought the lenticular design would mimic the idea of them separating since they could only be viewed separately from their specific angle. I further showed their separation by creating the Frere-Jones side in B/W while Hoefler was designed in color. I then came up with the idea of making the "book" double as a picture frame, for the purchaser, so that the lenticular could be viewed from both directions as a piece of artwork as people were passing by. The cover art is images of the fonts created by the duo while on the inside under the lenticular lists their many impressive clients.
